Take comfort, however, in knowing that with time, it’s possible for your loved one to achieve a full recovery.
At Eliteservices Homecare, we believe that, while medications and therapy play a big role in the recovery process of stroke patients, the kind of care and support they receive at home can either enhance or reduce their quality of life, affecting their overall health outcome.
It is important for loved ones to have a thorough understanding of the physical, mental, and emotional needs of stroke patients if they are to give them the right care. Unfortunately, with work, school, children, and other day-to-day responsibilities, understanding and coping with the needs of a stroke patient can be extremely challenging for many families today.
Our specialized, non-medical stroke care services are meant to take the load off the shoulders of such families, while providing their loved ones with the care and support they need to remain in their homes as they recover, despite the challenges they may be facing.
We offer an individualized stroke care package based on the specific non-medical needs of our clients, and it comes with some or all of the following services:
- Care coordination – where our specially-trained caregivers support the family by keeping track of medical and rehabilitative appointments.
- Transportation – this involves providing stroke-specific, non-medical, non-emergency transportation to medical and rehabilitative appointments, social engagements, and other destinations.
- Rehabilitation supervision – we don’t provide any rehabilitative exercises, but we supervise any exercise program provided by their healthcare providers to ensure their safety and to encourage their commitment to the regimen.
- Assistance with personal care activities – we assist with everyday activities like bathing, hair and nail care, safe lifting, positioning, and bathroom assistance, if needed.
- Housekeeping and errands – we not only concentrate on keeping their environment clean and healthy, but we also take necessary precautions to minimize their chances of falling, tripling, or encountering common home accidents.
- Meal planning and preparation – we shop for and prepare nutrient-dense meals under the instructions of their healthcare providers. We don’t offer feeding assistance but we supervise them as they feed and encourage them to maintain healthy habits./li>
- Bringing down their stress levels – we provide quality social interactions by offering genuine friendship, encouraging meaningful conversations, helping them to stay connected with family and friends through modern technology, and joining in as they engage in their favorite activities.
Our non-medical, stroke-specific team works under the supervision and direction of an RN, MD or an experienced healthcare.
